Managing Kiosk Mode on Popular Tablets

 
 ipad

1. iPad

Using Guided Access:

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Go to Accessibility > Guided Access (under the General section).

  3. Toggle Guided Access to On.

  4. Set a Passcode Settings that will be used to end Guided Access.

  5. Open the Safari browser and navigate to kiosk.mydispensary.com.

  6. Triple-click the Home button (or the Top button on newer iPads without a Home button) to enter Guided Access mode.

  7. Adjust settings if necessary (e.g., disabling touch, hardware buttons).

  8. Tap Start to begin Guided Access.

Exiting Guided Access:

  1. Triple-click the Home button (or the Top button).

  2. Enter the Passcode set earlier.

  3. Tap End at the top left corner.

 

Samsung 

2. Samsung Galaxy (Android)

Using SureLock:

  1. Install the SureLock app from the Google Play Store.

  2. Open SureLock and follow the setup instructions.

  3. Set SureLock as the default launcher.

  4. Add kiosk.mydispensary.com as the allowed website:

  5. Lock down the device with SureLock:

    • Exit the settings.

    • The device will now only allow access to the specified website.

3. Amazon Fire

Using Fully Kiosk Browser:

  1. Go to the Amazon Appstore and install the Fully Kiosk Browser.

  2. Open Fully Kiosk Browser and navigate to kiosk.mydispensary.com.

  3. Open the Fully Kiosk Settings:

    • Set Start URL to kiosk.mydispensary.com.

    • Go to Web Content Settings and enable Fullscreen Mode.

    • Go to Device Management and enable Keep Screen On.

    • Go to Kiosk Mode and enable Kiosk Mode.

  4. Password-protect the settings to prevent users from changing configurations.

4. Basic Android Tablet

Using SureLock (Similar to Samsung Galaxy instructions):

  1. Install the SureLock app from the Google Play Store.

  2. Open SureLock and follow the setup instructions.

  3. Set SureLock as the default launcher.

  4. Add kiosk.mydispensary.com as the allowed website:

  5. Lock down the device with SureLock:

    • Exit the settings.

    • The device will now only allow access to the specified website.

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure all tablets are fully charged and connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network.

  • Regularly check the devices to ensure they are functioning correctly and the website is accessible.

  • Consider implementing a remote management solution if you have multiple kiosks to manage.
