Elementor Won't Load | Troubleshooting Guide
If Elementor isn't loading, gets stuck on the loading screen, or displays a blank editor, don't worry. In most cases, the issue is caused by your browser, cached data, or a temporary website configuration problem. This guide walks through the most common causes and how to resolve them.
Common Symptoms
You may experience one or more of the following:
- Elementor stays on the loading screen.
- The editor displays a blank white screen.
- Widgets don't load.
- The editing panel is missing.
- The page never finishes loading.
- An error message appears when opening Elementor.
Before You Begin
Before troubleshooting, make sure:
- You have permission to edit the page.
- You're using a supported browser (Google Chrome is recommended).
- Your internet connection is stable.
Step 1: Refresh the Page
Sometimes the issue is temporary.
Try:
- Refreshing the page.
- Closing and reopening your browser.
- Logging out of WordPress and logging back in.
Step 2: Clear Your Browser Cache
Your browser may be loading an outdated version of the editor.
Try:
- Clearing your browser cache and cookies.
- Opening the page in an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
- Trying another browser.
If Elementor loads correctly in an Incognito window, the issue is likely related to your browser cache or extensions.
Step 3: Disable Browser Extensions
Browser extensions can interfere with Elementor.
Temporarily disable:
- Ad blockers
- Privacy extensions
- Script blockers
- Browser security tools
After disabling extensions, refresh the page and try again.
Step 4: Check for WordPress Updates
Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
If you have administrator access, verify that:
- WordPress is up to date.
- Elementor is up to date.
- Elementor Pro (if applicable) is up to date.
Important: If your website is managed by Rank Really High, do not perform updates unless instructed by our team. Updates are tested and managed as part of our maintenance process.
Step 5: Check for Plugin Conflicts
Occasionally another plugin may prevent Elementor from loading properly.
Common signs include:
- Elementor loads indefinitely.
- The editor crashes after opening.
- Only part of the editor appears.
If you manage your own website, you can temporarily deactivate recently installed plugins one at a time to identify the conflict.
If your website is managed by Rank Really High, contact our support team instead of disabling plugins yourself.
Step 6: Try Another Page
Determine whether the issue affects:
- One specific page
- Multiple pages
- The entire website
If only one page is affected, the page itself may require repair.
Step 7: Look for Website Errors
If you notice any of the following:
- 500 Internal Server Error
- Critical Error
- Memory Limit errors
- PHP errors
- Timeout messages
These typically require technical assistance.
Please contact Rank Really High Support.
